It’s been over a year since our last trip to Oregon (September 2022) and I never did make the time to share anything from our trip. We had a lot of fun and got some great photos, so I wanted to share some!
Coos Bay is a quite little town on the coast of Oregon, there isn’t much to do around here – unless you like to do things outside! There are beaches, beautiful state parks, tons of hiking, and one of my favorite mountain biking spots. It’s kind of in the middle of nowhere though, and from Salt Lake City, it’s either a 14+ hour drive or a couple-hour flight to Eugene and then a 90-minute drive to Coos Bay. More or less, off the beaten path… but a really beautiful place with a lot to offer!
5 things to do in Coos Bay, OR.:
This shortlist definitely isn’t all-inclusive, but rather a shortlist of our favorites from this short trip.
- Shore Acres State Park
- Cape Arago State Park
- Day trip to Bandon Beach and the Bandon Farmer’s Market
- Hiking
- Mountain Biking
It’s a small place, with not a lot to do… but if you like to be outside, there’s a ton of exploring to do. Beautiful beaches, hikes to waterfalls, and some pretty good mountain biking.
We went crabbing! That’s fun. Just down the road from my mom’s place, we dropped some crab baskets, cracked a beer, and hung out for a bit. The weather was beautiful and it was nice to relax while we caught our dinner!
Cape Arago State Park
Whiskey Run MTB
Just down the road from Coos Bay is the Whiskey Run Trail System. It’s one of the funniest trail systems I’ve ridden!
