A private villa with epic ocean views. Our own private infinity pool. Outstanding service and staff. The Conrad in Koh Samui, Thailand, is one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in anywhere. We loved our stay here!
Everything from our arrival, when we had to say goodbye, and everything in between was top-notch. Our experience at The Conrad Koh Samui was one of the BEST hotel experiences we’ve had.
The Conrad Koh Samui Property
Below is a view of what part of the Conrad Koh Samui looks like from above. Our villa was closer down to the water. They’re very private. You can’t see other villas while you’re inside or even out on the patio or in the infinity pool. They use golf carts to transport you and your luggage from arrival to your villa. The villas are built into the side of a mountain and the pathways are extremely steep and have sharp switchbacks. You couldn’t drive a vehicle to your villa even if you wanted to!
They’ll come and fetch you within minutes should you decide you need to go somewhere. Whether it’s the front desk, the breakfast area, or you need to get to your vehicle to go somewhere. The pathways are steep! The little rides are convenient and we didn’t mind it one bit. As you can see below, the pathways are crazy steep. I had a hard time riding my road bike back up the pathway to get to our villa. Likely 25-30% gradient!
Speaking of breakfast. The Conrad Koh Samui will serve you in your villa or you can go down to the common area where the full buffet-style breakfast is served. Breakfast was complete with everything you can imagine from fresh fruits, and smoothies, to made to order egg dishes.
The Room
There are a few different villa options available to choose from smaller to larger. We chose the 1 Bedroom Premium Ocean View Pool Villa option. It was plenty large enough for the two of us and has its own infinity pool. Pretty rad! We’re not too big on public pools, in fact, we don’t get in them ever. Just not our thing. But, having our own infinity pool just outside of our room with a nice patio and beautiful ocean view was a game changer. Over our 3 day stay at the Conrad Koh Samui we both got in the pool several times. After a long road bike ride one day, I even jumped in commando style to cool off and relax. It was great!
The room was really large, with a huge bedroom area and sitting area and a huge bathroom with a shower and a giant round tub. There was plenty of room for our baggage and my road bike and bike bag that I had brought with us. The outdoor space was perfect.
We spent most of our pool time in our villa’s private pool, but we did take a dip in the common pool and grab a cocktail down there. It was quiet, not too many people around and the drink was really good.
Getting to The Conrad Koh Samui
We rented a Toyota Fortuner while in Koh Samui. I always loved these things seeing them around Thailand, so finally rented one and we loved it! Wish we could have one here in the U.S. We flew into the Koh Samui Airport from Bangkok. From there it’s about an hour’s drive to the other side of the island to get to the Conrad Koh Samui. We didn’t need a vehicle while there, but it was nice to have when we did a little exploring around the island.
The Cost
Our villa was about $1100/night total. One of the most expensive places we’ve stayed at for sure. But, we both felt that the property presented enough value that it was worth it. We loved our stay at the Conrad Koh Samui and we’ll 100% stay here again the next time we visit Koh Samui.
This is a Hilton Property so if you’re a Hilton member you can use your Hilton Honors points to cover costs. At the time of our stay, I had around 400,000 Hilton points. We stayed for 3 nights for 285,000 points, worth it!
Sure, there are quite a few options around Koh Samui that are more budget-friendly… we splurged a little bit. It was worth it and we enjoyed our stay. You can look into the property and book your trip here.
Final Thoughts on The Conrad Koh Samui
All in all, this was a fantastic resort and the Conrad Koh Samui exceeded all of our expectations. Everything was very nice, very clean and the staff made sure we were well looked after. If we were going to Koh Samui again, we would certainly stay at the Conrad Koh Samui again. The villas give you a sense of privacy and being away from it all. At the same time having everything that you need.
